About Brisbane

Brisbane – the heart of the sunshine state and the centre of the fastest growing region in Australia. Situated on the beautiful Brisbane River, Brisbane is Queensland’s vibrant capital.

Cruise down the Brisbane River, passing under the historic Story Bridge and stop off at the popular South Bank where you can paddle in Streets Beach. The Gallery of Modern Art is a must-see cultural attraction or, if a game of rugby is your cultural style, a game at Suncorp Stadium is not to be missed.

While Queensland is known for its cultural attractions, sun, pristine beaches and tropical rainforests, Brisbane is a business hub for the state’s massive coal seam gas resources and growing LNG industry.

CSG production rose by almost 39 per cent to over 132 petajoules (PJ) – up from 95.7 PJ in the previous financial year. With eight LNG plants on the drawing board, Queensland is set to join Western Australia as an LNG exporter. The 2007/08 year saw massive growth in east coast CSG reserves with total proved and probable reserves almost doubling on the previous year to 12,400 PJ.*
